WAK-O was born and bred in Belfast, Northern Ireland, created by designer Jack Kane in June 2023.

WAK-O is a circular, slow-fashion clothing brand that creates innovative products and designs through upcycling, pattern making, garment construction and textile experimentation whilst taking heavy inspiration from streetwear culture.

Noticing the decline in quality of clothing and the environmental crisis caused by the fast-fashion industry, I have decided to start a slow-fashion brand that unlike others creates products for exclusivity and longevity, whilst aiming to help combat some issues along the way.

Not only will I be developing new products, I will also be reselling pre-loved clothing for all ages and demographics. This has evolved from my addiction of hunting for unique items, and by selling them on gives me the freedom to find more.’

What is a slow-fashion brand?

Slow-fashion means that products will not be created for
mass production meaning that most products will either be 1 of 1 or created in small batches. ONCE THE PRODUCT IS SOLD OUT, IT’S GONE FOR GOOD. Thus making each product more exclusive ie. IF YOU SNOOZE YOU LOOZE!!!

What is circular fashion?

The circular side of the brand means that once you are done
with your WAK-O product you can trade it in and receive a discount off something new. The discount will all depend on the condition of the item you are trading in with the maximum discount set at 30% off. All items that have been traded in will be repaired and resold at a discounted price, again depending on the
condition of the product. This avoids any products being wrongfully discarded and keeps them in constant rotation.

What is the WAK-O quality control process?

This is the process taken to ensure that every product is of
the highest of quality and is revived to its best possible condition. We follow this process to ensure that all items are clean and repaired. We do this by machine and hand washing, using stain removers or dyes and repairing with a machine or hand stitch.
